Help & feedback
The current App Store version is 2.1, in Simplified Chinese. English UI and review prompts are coming in 2.2.0. English button names below refer to that upcoming version.
How do I start?
Open ToneTime, choose screen-time and break durations, enable Notifications and Screen Time, and tap Start. The default rhythm is 20 minutes of screen time followed by a 20-second break.
Why does ToneTime need Screen Time permission?
The released app counts elapsed time, including time on the Lock Screen and in other apps. Screen Time permission lets iOS maintain daily schedule boundaries and ongoing reminders outside ToneTime. Starting a new cycle requires this permission. ToneTime does not read or upload app names, browsing history, or screen content.
Does it measure screen viewing or block other apps?
No. ToneTime provides scheduled break reminders on the device where it is installed. It does not measure where you look, remotely manage a child’s device, or block other apps.
Why did I miss a notification?
In iOS Settings → Notifications → ToneTime, enable notifications and your preferred alert options. Check Focus, silent mode, and Sounds & Haptics. Make sure a cycle has started and the current time is within your schedule. Return to ToneTime to check permission messages and retry if needed.
How do I schedule school or work hours?
In ToneTime Settings → Schedule, enable Use a schedule. Choose start and end times and repeat days, then save. A new cycle begins at the start time and reminders stop at the end time. Overnight sessions belong to the day they start.
How do I change the language?
In iOS Settings → Apps → ToneTime → Language, choose English or Simplified Chinese. On some iOS versions ToneTime appears directly in Settings. If the option is missing, add the language in General → Language & Region first. English is available from version 2.2.0.
How do I clear my data?
In ToneTime Settings → Data & privacy, choose Reset all settings and data. This clears your settings and current cycle. From version 2.2.0, it also clears engagement counters; the last review-request date and app version stay on your device to prevent repeated prompts.
How do I report a problem?
Include your device model, iOS version, app version, schedule, notification permission status, and steps to reproduce. The GitHub Issues page below is public. Do not include passwords, Apple Account details, device identifiers, or sensitive screenshots.
